  Discussion of the name

Summary

Leofgifu 15 was probably the wife of Æelfric, the TRE sheriff of Huntingdonshire, whose messuage in the borough of Huntingdon had been granted to Leofgifu by King William. However, she had then been forcibly evicted by Sheriff Eustace and at the time of Domesday Leofgifu 15 and her son were still trying to reclaim the property.
