The name Beorhthun occurs only once in DB, as the holder of a single virgate, waste both TRE and in 1086, at Preston Brockhurst, 8 miles north of Shrewsbury on the north Shropshire plain. A second, larger, holding at the same place was in the hands of the brothers Hunning ( and Wulfgeat, important landowners in the shire.
Given the size of his estate, land for ½ plough rated as 1 virgate, Beorhthun was presumably a peasant whose holding was for some reason separately assessed for the geld.
