Profile

There is no reason to associate Leofgifu 10 with any other person of that name recorded in Domesday Book. Although there are other estates in Essex held by women with the same name (Leofgifu 17, 18 and 23), they all passed to different successors and and were of considerably smaller size than that held by Leofgifu 10; further afield, no other estates held by a Leofgifu TRE share the same succession to Ralph Bainard.
