The three small rural estates in Yorkshire entered with the name Brun were too far apart for it to be at all likely that they belonged to the same person.
Brun 24 owned land at Cleaving on the Yorkshire Wolds 15 miles east of York. He had some unspecified share of 14 bovates, worth 10s., and was named second, after Ligulf and before Thorkil. The latter also holding a separate manor of 10 bovates in the same vill (Yorks. 1E:3). The DB spelling Brune probably means that Brun 24 had the variant of the name conventionally spelled Bruna.
